Adopt a Sea Turtle

Adopt one of our rescued sea turtles for yourself or a friend to help cover the costs of caring for that turtle for 3, 6, or 12 months! Adopted sea turtles make fantastic birthday or holiday gifts, and they are also a great way to engage the little ones with marine conservation. 🙂 When you adopt a turtle the package includes a certificate, ID profile and fact sheet, photo and monthly updates on your chosen turtle.

Please head to this link to read about our adoptable turtles. Once you have selected a turtle to adopt, please fill out the form at the bottom of the webpage. This form will NOT charge you for your adoption; it is simply used to collect information that our marine biologists need to send your adoption package (selected turtle to adopt, email address to receive package and updates, and full name(s) to include on adoption certificate). To complete your adoption, please submit your payment via this GoFundMe link.

Adopting one of our sea turtles will help our sanctuary which takes in illegally kept pet turtles and injured turtles. Your donations will help us to provide the essential food and care needed and also allow expansions at the Marine Center such as additional tanks, creating more stimulating conditions and more space for the turtles. Your donation will also help us provide essential funding for GPS tagging of our turtles and security cameras around our site.

We rehabilitate turtles who have been injured, often they come to us in a critical condition and it can take months for them to regain their strength. A large number of the turtles we receive have been entangled in ghost fishing nets, and have serious injuries to their flippers or carapace (shell). When turtles are stressed, they fill with air making it impossible for them to dive down to hunt. We give injured turtles an opportunity to heal and recover, with the hope of eventually releasing all healthy turtles. We receive turtles from 1 day old to 40 years old!

We never take turtles from the wild unless they are injured and are unlikely to survive, all turtles are donated from local people.

Purchase this package for a fellow animal lover, or to show your support for wildlife conservation.
